Do Not Photograph the Working Girls in Amsterdam’s Red Light District!

When visiting the Red Light District in Amsterdam, it’s a well-known rule that you’re not supposed to photograph the working girls in their windows.

Those who attempt to do so anyway are often greeted with angry faces, cursing yells, and threats of coming out of the window and after the photographer.

That said, there is absolutely no rule against setting your camera on a canal bridge in the middle of Amsterdam’s Red Light District and taking a fisheye photograph at dusk of the entire scene.
