My mother is one of the most wonderful and unique people around, and over the years she has collected a large variety of treasures that she proudly displays on her walls and shelves.
For Mother’s Day, 2011, I took my dslr and 50mm lens around her apartment to capture just some of her treasures. Everything was photographed exactly as I found it and nothing was moved or set up for this series.
My mom, Bonnie, is a great painter, photographer and jack of all artistic trades. She comes from a long line of artists and has done a beautiful job of continuing the family tradition.
Nothing can describe my happiness seeing the huge smile on my mom’s face when I gave her a bound book with photographic c-prints of the images on this page for Mother’s Day.
The final shot is a self-portrait in my mom’s halogen lamp.
You’re the best, Mom! :)
