12,999 Monk Alms Procession
Chiang Mai, Thailand

It’s a scientific fact that both humans and electronics have an energy field surrounding them. This “aura” is tough to measure and even more difficult to see with the naked eye, but the below image of a monk taking a photograph at sunrise does a pretty good job.

Photographing a Monk’s Energy Field, or Aura

The sun had just peeked out above the tree line and I was surrounded by 12,999 monks in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In a few minutes, they would begin a procession to receive alms from thousands of devotees who had lined the street.

For now, these monks were waiting patiently and some even passed the time by taking photographs of the scene and their friends. When I initially framed this picture, I was trying to show the irony of a monk with a digital camera.

However, when I looked at it on my computer, I found that the photograph had actually captured the interaction between the monk’s aura and camera’s energy field. Here’s a closeup of the above photo…

What is a Human Energy Field, or Aura

Energy fields are caused by magnetic fields that surround our electrically-charged particles. In humans, these particles are found in our cells and tissues and quite often can affect the performance of electronic devices.

Personally, I have an uncanny ability to make electronics work better. Sometimes, just putting my hand on the monitor of someone having computer troubles is enough to solve the issue.

Conversely, my wife seems to repel electronics and causes Internet connections to fade. A long-standing joke, we decided to test this phenomenon one day. I began downloading a large file and had her stand at different distances from my computer. Sure enough, when she was next to my laptop, the download all but stopped. With each step she took away from it, the speed increased. We still laugh about it to this day.

For a more scientific explanation on the interaction between electronic and human energy fields, I turn to Julie Strier:

“One possible reason that human energy fields can affect electronic energy fields is that our modern day electronics all contain quartz crystals which help the internal clocks keep time, and which also help transmit and receive signals.

The computer is electrifying and vibrating the quartz using a magnetic field, so if your personal energy field is strong enough, it could affect and even change the frequency at which the crystal is vibrating.”

…and Lindsay Curtis

“It has long been known that the activities of our cells and tissues generate electrical fields that can be detected on our skin’s surface. Our aura is the energetic “skin” that holds all of our inner energy bodies (chakras) together. Your energy field is the instrument of wellness and the source of illnesses.

Simply put, your energy field is your aura. And your aura is powerful enough to affect the energy and electronic items around you. The reasons are varied; they can be emotional, physical or completely random.”

So what do you think?

Do you believe in this phenomenon?

Have you ever seen or experienced an energy field?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section.
