When you spend three weeks living somewhere, it gives you a lot of time to wander around, explore and meet locals of all mammalian shapes and sizes.

One sunny day, Carrie and I left our guesthouse in Bhagsu, Mcleod Ganj, with one goal: up. As we climbed, we reveled in how quickly the ratio of humanity to nature changed to the side of Mother Earth.

After going up for quite a while, we stopped for a rest alongside the path and were greeted by these two curious Indian goats.

Bells and leashes around their necks clued us into their domesticated status, but it was their curiosity about my camera that made me realize just how many humans they must encounter. Once, I even had to take a break from photographing to clean off my lens.

However, as curious as they may have been on their own terms, as soon as Carrie and I stood up to walk with them, the goats took off running. So nice of them to leave me with these memories first!
